Chloride-free NICASAL® – an available alternative to PAC products
Currently, the demand for PAC based products is very high. In addition, there is a lack of hydrochloric acid, which has led to a further product shortage and an price increase of flocculants and precipitants based on PAC. FeIIICl-flocculants are also hardly available at the moment. A turnaround is not expected in the coming months.
In addition to aluminum sulphate as an alternative to PAC, our chloride-free NICASAL® could be a useful replacement, depending on your application. NICASAL® is available at our production site in Duisburg, Germany.
The application areas for NICASAL®:
- Papermaking/ board production
- Ideal for the use in closed water circuits
- the chloride-free product NICASAL® was developed in particular to avoid corrosion damage
- Industrial wastewater (glass, paint and coating industry, food industry, heavy industry, mining)
- Waste water treatment from car washing plant
Further advantages with NICASAL:®
- Prevention of odor nuisances caused by toxic H2S and/or organic acids
- No corrosion of stainless steel components due to chloride-free product
- Potential for closing the water cycle system
- Reduction of biocides and functional additives
- Reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and reduction of salt input (no chloride)
- Liquid aluminum sulphate is used as a substitute for FeIIICl for the use in phosphate precipitation in wastewater treatment plants.
- Use of aluminum sulphate in sewage treatment plants with solvent bunkers (previously in use for iron sulphate (FeIISO4)).
